Is It Time for a New AC?

thermometer-hot-dayThe heat of summer is still a ways off, though it is getting closer and closer with each passing day. While you are not going to be needing your air conditioner in the immediate future, you should definitely be thinking about having it tuned up and ready for action, should the summer weather sneak up on us a bit earlier than expected. If you are thinking about replacing your air conditioner in Denver, CO before the summer season sets in, then now is definitely the time to start that process.

There are many different reasons that you may choose to replace your home cooling system. If you think that waiting until the system breaks down entirely before replacing it is the way to go, think again. You don’t want to waste money on a premature replacement, and we understand that. However, getting a new system in place before you wind up in an uncomfortable situation really is the way to go. Here are a few reasons to consider replacing your system.

When to Schedule an AC Replacement

Okay, so I shouldn’t wait for a complete breakdown before replacing may air conditioner. When should I replace it, then? It’s a tricky question, particularly considering that homeowners rightfully want to get the best possible return on the investment that they’ve made in their air conditioning systems. So when should you replace your air conditioner? Here are some questions to ask yourself.

  • How old is the existing system? No air conditioner is going to last forever. All air conditioners are working with finite lifespans, and you should have an estimated period for your air conditioner. If the system is already beyond or is rapidly approaching the end of its projected lifespan, then  you may want to replace the system now and let it go out on a high note.
  • How efficient is the system? Another factor that ties into the age of your system is the efficiency with which that system operates. If you have a very old air conditioner, it is possible that it has lost some of its efficiency capabilities over time. It’s also possible that the system just pales in comparison to today’s efficiency expectations, or perhaps you compromised on efficiency at the time of purchase due to budgetary constraints. Investing a system with a higher SEER is a good reason for replacement.
  • How happy are you with the system? Even if your air conditioner functions reliably, it is very possible that it’s just not the AC that you’d have chosen for yourself. If this is the case, getting the AC that you actually want is reason enough for a replacement. We will ensure that you are 100% satisfied with your new cooling system, be it a central AC, heat pump, ductless mini split, or evaporative cooler.

When the heat of summer is at its peak, you’ll be glad that you scheduled your air conditioning replacement with the pros on our staff.
