Meet Liza Torres: Cooper Your Green Team’s August 2026 Employee of the Month

At Cooper Heating & Cooling, your Cooper Green Team, great home service starts with great people. We’re proud to recognize Liza Torres, Customer Service Representative III (CSR III), as our August 2026 Employee of the Month.

For more than two years, Liza has helped Denver Metro homeowners get the heating, cooling, plumbing, electrical, and indoor air quality service they need. Her patience, kindness, work ethic, and ability to turn difficult customer situations into positive experiences have made her a trusted member of Cooper’s customer service team.

But Liza’s journey to the Cooper Green Team is anything but ordinary.

From Retirement to the Cooper Green Team

Before joining Cooper, Liza built an impressive career that included 13 years at Rocky Flats, where she served as a foreman overseeing a 45-person demolition and decontamination crew.

She later spent approximately 11 years as a customer service resolution specialist, developing the communication, patience, and problem-solving skills that continue to serve her today.

Eventually, Liza retired. But with five sons and 15 grandchildren, retirement didn’t exactly mean slowing down.

Looking for a change of pace, Liza decided to return to work. She accepted a temporary position with the Cooper Green Team through a staffing agency and spent six months getting to know the company, its customers, and its culture.

She liked what she found, and Cooper recognized what Liza brought to the team. She officially joined the company and has now been part of the Cooper Green Team for more than two years.

Helping Denver Homeowners Get the Home Service They Need

As a Customer Service Representative III, Liza is often one of the first people homeowners speak with when they need help from the Cooper Green Team.

Those conversations aren’t always easy.

An air conditioner may stop cooling during a hot Colorado summer. A furnace may fail on a cold morning. A plumbing or electrical problem can suddenly disrupt someone’s home and schedule.

In those moments, having an experienced and caring person on the other end of the phone can make a big difference.

That’s where Liza shines.

Her manager describes her as an absolute force on the phones,” highlighting the patience and kindness she brings to every conversation.

Her patience is unmatched, her kindness sets the tone for the entire department, and her ability to calm frustrated customers and turn difficult situations into positive experiences is truly next-level.”

Liza listens, works to understand what the homeowner needs, and helps guide them toward the next step. Her years of customer service and problem-solving experience help her stay calm and focused, even when callers are dealing with stressful situations.

Making the People Around Her Better

Liza’s impact doesn’t stop with the customers she helps.

She’s also become a valuable resource for her coworkers.

According to her manager, Liza’s teammates say she teaches them something new every day and is the kind of person who makes everyone around her better.

She leads by example through her work ethic, positivity, patience, and commitment to helping both customers and coworkers succeed.

Her manager summed it up this way:

Her impact is felt across the entire department, and she represents the very best of Cooper and the Green Team.”

Liza has also been a significant contributor to the growth of Cooper Green Club 360 memberships, helping homeowners understand how proactive whole-home maintenance can simplify the care of their heating, cooling, plumbing, and electrical systems.

For Liza, helping customers isn’t simply about handling a phone call. It’s about building trust and helping homeowners feel confident that they have a team they can rely on.

Why Liza Chose to Stay at Cooper

After working for much larger organizations throughout her career, Liza immediately noticed something different about Cooper.

It felt personal.

She appreciates working for a locally owned company where employees are recognized as individuals rather than simply another number in a large organization.

As Liza explains:

Here, they see you. They hear you, and they appreciate you as an individual.”

That sense of belonging is one of the biggest reasons she enjoys being part of the Cooper Green Team.

She also appreciates that the culture extends across departments and job titles. To Liza, everyone contributes to the company’s success and deserves to feel like part of the team.

Supporting Cooper Green Team Customers Across the Denver Metro

Working directly with homeowners also gives Liza a unique perspective on the service Cooper provides throughout the Denver Metro area.

Through customer conversations and follow-up happy checks,” she regularly hears firsthand accounts of the professionalism, knowledge, and personal attention Cooper technicians provide in customers’ homes.

That feedback makes it easy for Liza to stand behind the company she represents.

She knows that when she helps schedule an HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or indoor air quality appointment, there’s an experienced team behind her working to take care of that homeowner.

For Liza, believing in the people providing the service is an important part of delivering a great customer experience.

Life Outside the Cooper Green Team

When Liza isn’t helping Cooper customers, family is a big part of her life.

She and her husband have five sons, 14 grandsons, and one step-granddaughter. With a family that size, it’s no surprise that Liza is accustomed to cooking for what she calls an army.”

Cooking is something she enjoys, particularly preparing meals and sharing family recipes. Two of her sons have even developed a love of cooking themselves, helping carry that family tradition forward.

When she’s not cooking or spending time with family, Liza enjoys relaxing at home and caring for her elderly blind dog.

After a long career, raising five sons, and helping with 15 grandchildren, some quiet time at home is certainly well earned.

Congratulations to Our August 2026 Employee of the Month

From leading a 45-person crew at Rocky Flats to resolving customer concerns and becoming a trusted member of Cooper’s customer service team, Liza has built a career around working hard, solving problems, and helping people.

Today, as a CSR III, she continues to make an impact with every homeowner she helps and every coworker she supports.

Her patience, positivity, leadership, and commitment to customer service represent the qualities we value throughout the Cooper Green Team.

We’re proud to recognize Liza Torres as Cooper Green Team’s August 2026 Employee of the Month.
