Boiler installation cost factors
The boiler's size
Boilers are sized by their "BTU output". The higher the BTU output, the more heat the system can produce in an hour and the more the system will cost. The only way to properly size a boiler is by performing a heat loss calculation, which Cooper provides for free with all boiler installations.
The efficiency of the boiler
Boiler efficiency is measured by its AFUE rating. The higher the AFUE rating, the more efficient the boiler—and the more the boiler will cost. However, a higher AFUE rating means the boiler will save you more money on monthly energy bills.
The condition of your radiators/baseboards
Boilers warm your home via a network of pipes that send heat to radiators/baseboards located throughout the house. If your old boiler's piping system requires repairs or a replacement, this will increase the overall installation cost.
