December Employee of the Month: Esmeralda “Esmy” Guerra
At Cooper Heating & Cooling, we believe our people are the heart of everything we do. This December, we’re proud to recognize Esmeralda “Esmy” Guerra, one of our outstanding HVAC Maintenance Technicians, as our December Employee of the Month.
Building a Career in HVAC with Purpose
Esmeralda graduated from InterTek in Colorado Springs in the summer of 2024, ready to begin her career in the HVAC industry. She started out working with smaller, single-truck operators, gaining hands-on experience while seeking greater consistency in her work hours and opportunities for long-term growth.
In early 2025, Esmy relocated to Aurora, Colorado, and joined the Cooper Green Team in summer 2025—marking her first full-time HVAC position. Since then, she has quickly proven herself to be a dependable, hardworking, and motivated technician who takes pride in her craft.
Why Esmy Loves Working at Cooper Heating & Cooling
Esmy appreciates the variety of work she encounters at Cooper, servicing different homes and systems across the Denver area. She values the ongoing learning opportunities and professional development that come with being part of a larger, supportive team.
She’s also proud to work in an environment where she is treated equally in a male-dominated industry, and she takes pride in representing women in HVAC. One of her favorite parts of the job is seeing her daughter learn about what she does — helping inspire the next generation through her example.
A Team Player Who Goes Above and Beyond
Esmeralda’s supervisor shared this about her performance:
“Esmeralda consistently went above and beyond by delivering reliable, high-quality HVAC maintenance and service to every customer. Her attention to detail helped ensure systems are running safely and efficiently. Her participation in all the extra events shows she is a team player and wants to be a part of Cooper. She is always the first to volunteer when the service and maintenance departments need help and is someone we can always rely on. Her strong work ethic and positive attitude make her a very valuable asset to the team.”

Life Outside of Work
When she’s not helping homeowners stay comfortable, Esmy loves spending time with her family, exploring Denver and all that Colorado has to offer, and making memories together.
