October Employee of the Month: Elizabeth “Liz” Villanueva

Celebrating excellence in recruiting, retention, and safety at Cooper Heating & Cooling
Meet Liz Villanueva — Our October Employee of the Month
Elizabeth “Liz” Villanueva, Human Resources Recruiter at Cooper Heating & Cooling, has been named our October Employee of the Month!
Liz plays a key role in supporting the growth and success of Cooper Heating & Cooling, a family-owned HVAC company serving Colorado’s Front Range since 1978. She leads recruiting efforts across all departments, ensuring that Cooper continues to hire and retain top talent who share our commitment to exceptional customer service, safety, and teamwork.
Leading Recruiting and Retention Across the Cooper Green Team
As Cooper’s Human Resources Recruiter, Liz manages all recruiting and hiring efforts for every department — from HVAC technicians and electricians to customer service and administrative roles. She also oversees Cooper’s new retention initiatives, which include:
A redesigned employee orientation program
30/60/90-day check-in meetings to ensure new team members get the support they need
Ongoing development programs that empower employees to thrive in their careers
These efforts are helping Cooper Heating & Cooling build a stronger, more connected team across Colorado.
Building a Culture of Safety and Support
Liz also took the lead in developing and implementing Cooper’s Safety Policy and Training Program, reinforcing our commitment to workplace safety. She created a comprehensive safety training system for all employees. She introduced a new way to share monthly updates and company news via in-office TV slides, keeping everyone informed and engaged.
Her leadership in safety and communication has made a lasting impact on our culture. It continues to help us uphold the high standards our customers expect from the Cooper Green Team.
A Perfect Fit for the Cooper Family
Liz originally joined Cooper Heating & Cooling as a contractor, but it didn’t take long for everyone to see how perfectly she fit in. After just a few months, she became a full-time member of the team.
She says she loves working at Cooper because she sees real potential for growth — both personally and company-wide — and appreciates that Cooper is family-owned, welcoming, and supportive.
When she’s not recruiting top talent or developing new programs, Liz enjoys spending time with her son and two pups, traveling, and watching scary movies.
Supervisor’s Praise
“Liz was nominated for Employee of the Month for taking the initiative to develop our new Safety Policy and Training Program. She successfully implemented a training program for all employees to ensure safety standards are consistently met. Additionally, Liz introduced a new communication method for monthly updates via TV slides, which she consistently updates as new developments emerge. Liz also makes a great first impression when recruiting new hires, effectively promoting what a welcoming workspace this is and ensuring new employees receive onboarding that includes hearing directly from our CEO, reinforcing that they are valued and welcome.”
Thank You, Liz!
The entire Cooper Green Team is grateful for Liz’s hard work, leadership, and dedication to making Cooper Heating & Cooling a great place to work. Her efforts strengthen our team and help ensure every employee — and every customer — feels supported and valued.
